I’ve stayed at the Portbyhan twice in the last 3 years as it was booked through the tour operator I used. It’s right on the front next to the river and not far from the shops. All I had to do was walk a few yards and cross the bridge. My rooms each time were fine with everything I needed and I had a view of the river. The food was absolutely fine. The staff were friendly and I can recommend it

The classic rooms offer beautiful views of Looe Harbour and an inviting and comfortable space in which one can relax and unwind after an exciting day in Cornwall.
Recently returned on a 5 day break with Arvonia Coaches had a balcony room 106 is smaller than the one we had last year but still has those super views the staff are all professional and accommodate all your needs a special mention to the breakfast chef she is a joy look forward to returning soon

Feel at home in one of our warm and welcoming standard rooms. Unwind in front of the TV complete with Freeview channels, rejuvenate in the comfortable bathroom and enjoy our fully stocked and complimentary hospitality tray.
Visited with my elderly mum for a September short break. Booked classic rooms, which are compact but pleasant and ours had a lovely view over the estuary. Breakfast included, help yourself. Food was reasonable and staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. Price was competitive so, all in all, we had a very enjoyable short break. Recommended.

Our family rooms are inviting and spacious and can comfortably accommodate up to 4 people. We offer a variety of family rooms, from rooms with trundle beds to cater for families with children through to double rooms with additional single beds to accommodate families, friends or small groups.
Arrived sweaty and exhausted after a long journey and looe relaxed me… the Portbyhan did more… a lovely river view room with a balcony… a gorgeous breakfast and excellent staff. Yes criminal one night was certainly not enough. Will return
